TEMPLE EDUCATION MINISTRIES,INC.
The H.O.P.E. Soup Kitchen, a Temple Education Ministries, Inc. program, began operating July 1, 2009. It was developed to serve food insecure individuals in northern Spartanburg County with weekly hot meals and take home food to augment their home meals. The program also addresses social, and physical issues through games, fellowship and a well-equipped exercise room.
The H.O.P.E. Soup Kitchen is physically located at the Life Center of Greater Saint James Temple in Inman, South Carolina. The program is staffed by ten volunteers, which include two former school nutrition workers. Many volunteers have completed the Serv-Safe Food Handlers Training Course and are certified through the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control. The board is comprised of seven individuals from the surrounding community and church.
OUR VISION
We envision an Upstate where no one is invisible, no one is forgotten, and every individual and family—regardless of circumstance—has access to nourishment, community, and the resources needed to move forward with dignity and hope.
OUR MISSION
To serve the Upstate through Christ-centered love, genuine fellowship, and compassionate outreach—providing nourishing meals while connecting low-income and at-risk individuals and families with resources that support stability, dignity, and hope in rural communities including Inman, Campobello, Landrum, Gramling, Boiling Springs, Wellford, Lyman, and surrounding areas.
WHO WE ARE
We are more than a meal. We are a place of welcome, a table of dignity, and a bridge to hope—nourishing bodies, building relationships, and connecting individuals and families to the resources they need to move forward. Through love, fellowship, and intentional outreach, we seek to transform lives and strengthen the Upstate community.
HOW WE DO WHAT WE DO
We do this together. H.O.P.E. Soup Kitchen is made possible through the generosity and commitment of our partners—churches, volunteers, donors, local organizations, and community
